28th June 2015

Contemporary Fine Violin Exhibition Kota Kinabalu 2015

Finally, here are some pictures from the exhibit. We completely forgot to take more pictures during the evening when it was full house! *face-palm* Anyway, a big THANK YOU to all who came! We definitely enjoyed your company. Another massive THANK YOU too to our special guests, Mondays String Quartet and Dr Fang of Selly Oak Music, for performing on Deciso Gallery's collection of fine instruments. It was a pleasure to see and also listen to these instruments in action!

This is indeed our very first public exhibition, featuring Maestro Liutaio Bertrand Yves Delisle and his instruments. Special thanks to Mr Tan of Deciso Violin Gallery for these exquisite instruments, made available for us who are here in Sabah, and we all know that it is almost impossible to get instruments of all kinds (strings, woodwinds, brass...) for advance players. In simplified "English" so to say, owning a fine violin is like owning a Steinway & Sons piano for pianists. As Deciso's tag line says, 'serious violins, crafted by serious luthiers, for serious musicians', and yes it is that serious!

As a matter of fact we do know that not everyone can afford to own a Steinway & Sons piano, or, in more simplified English, owning a Rolls-Royce in comparison to a Ferrari or Jaguar. Good news is, we do also provide affordable range of instruments (Ferrari or Jaguar?) for advance players. We always encourage students whose playing level are of Grade 5 and above to start investing on a good instrument because a student range violin can only bring you that far. For further enquiries, please contact Chris Oh at 0109777719. And now, do enjoy viewing these pictures from the exhibition on 28th June 2015.
